FT-IR spectrometers require desiccant kits to keep their optical paths moisture-free. PerkinElmer recommends that your instrument's desiccant be replaced every six months. Your spectrometer's manual has instructions on how to install the desiccant. Depending on the spectrometer, you will need two to three desiccant kits every six months.
