溫帶氣旋對(duì)中高緯度地區(qū)的天氣變化有著重要的影響，多風(fēng)雨天氣，有時(shí)伴有暴雨或強(qiáng)對(duì)流天氣，有時(shí)近地面zui大風(fēng)力可達(dá)10級(jí)以上。
溫帶氣候是世界上分布的氣候類型。由于溫帶氣候分布地域廣泛，類型復(fù)雜繁多，從而為生物界創(chuàng)造了良好的氣候環(huán)境，形成了豐富多彩的動(dòng)植物界。從植物的種類上來(lái)看，有夏綠闊葉林、針葉林和針闊混交林，大陸內(nèi)部也有草原、半沙漠和沙漠。草原地區(qū)生活著善跑能飛的動(dòng)物；在闊葉林中生活著大型食肉類動(dòng)物；針葉林中生活著一些耐寒動(dòng)物。南溫帶處于南緯23°26'～66°34'之間，即南回歸線和南極圈之間的溫帶，無(wú)陽(yáng)光直射。海洋生物的發(fā)育和生長(zhǎng)條件與北溫帶相似。海生植物繁茂，巨型藻類生長(zhǎng)*，浮游生物豐富，是南半球海洋動(dòng)物zui多的地帶。南回歸線到南極圈之間的區(qū)域?yàn)槟蠝貛А?br />南溫帶是指南回歸線和南極圈之間的地區(qū)，即南緯66°34′到南緯23°26′之間的緯度帶。主要包括南美洲的南部，大洋洲南部和非洲的南部地區(qū)。

涼溫帶（又稱中溫帶）
涼溫帶也有兩個(gè)不同的含義：*種為zui熱月的平均氣溫在10℃～20℃之間的地區(qū)。第二種解釋為zui熱月的平均氣溫在10℃以上，zui冷月的平均氣溫在0℃以下的地區(qū)。

寒溫帶又稱亞寒帶，指年平均氣溫低于0℃，而且zui熱月的平均氣溫高于10℃的地區(qū)
由于南半球海洋面積廣闊，海陸間的熱力性質(zhì)差異較小，因此南溫帶內(nèi)沒(méi)有溫帶季風(fēng)氣候區(qū)。

The southern temperate zone belongs to the mid-latitude zone between the Tropic and Polar Circles. In this heat zone, the height of the sun changes greatly at noon of the year.
